Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 July 2026
Forage is run by a single sole proprietor doing business as "Forage." This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the service handles and why. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell it.
What we collect
- Your email — provided when you create a key. It's used to issue one key per person, to send account or refund-related messages, and to reach you if there's a problem with the service.
- Your API key — stored only as a one-way hash, so even we can't read your key back. That's why it's shown only once at creation.
- Usage records — for each call we store which endpoint you used, the credits it cost, and when, so we can show your balance and history and prevent abuse.
- The URLs and content you submit — passed through to fetch, render, or transcribe what you asked for. See below.
- Basic request metadata — such as your IP address, used transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
The content you send through the API
When you call an endpoint, Forage fetches the URL (or takes the HTML/audio) you provide, processes it, and returns the result to you. We don't build a permanent archive of the pages or audio you target. Extraction and transcription are performed using Cloudflare's Workers AI models running on Cloudflare's edge; your input is processed to produce your output and is not used by us to train models.
Where it lives
Forage runs entirely on Cloudflare's platform (Workers, D1, and related services). Account data — your email, hashed key, credit balance, and usage records — is stored in Cloudflare's database. Payment processing, when live, is handled by a third-party payment provider; card details never touch Forage's servers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't run third-party advertising or tracking on the API.
- We don't share your data except as needed to run the service (our infrastructure and payment providers) or when required by law.
Retention
Account and usage data is kept while your key is active so the service can function. Ask us to delete your account and we'll remove your email, key, and usage records, subject to any records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (for example, payment records).
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing willchilcutt@gmail.com. Since we only need your email to run an account, deleting it effectively closes the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes affecting existing users will be noted by email where practical.
